Condominium townhouses in Downtown Toronto

Townhouse in Toronto Recent real estate boom brought construction into underdeveloped areas in downtown Toronto. Many condominium townhouses were built where is wasn't feasible to construct high rise condominiums. Toronto Townhouse Condo townhomes are more affordable than freehold residences, and, although they usually sit on a very small piece of property, they provide more freedom and privacy than a condo apartment or loft.

Majority of condo townhouses in Toronto's downtown are located west of Yonge Street. They are mainly concentrated around King Street West between Bathurst and Dovercourt, with some more in the Liberty Village, on Stadium Road by the Alexandra Yaht Club, on Carr just east of Bathurst north of Queen, and on Morrison at Adelaide (this is a new development, and they will be most likely classified as loft townhouses, with 11 and 10 feet ceiling heights.

Condominium Townhouse In condominium townhouses maintenance fees are proportionally lower than for the same space in a high rise building, but in most cases they do not cover utilities. Townhouses tend to have no pet restrictions, and you can barbecue on your own deck.

Many of recently built townhouses are 'stacked'. That means that the vertical space is divided between two or more units. Upper unit often comes with a rooftop terrace, lower with a deck or patio. Some of the entrances to the upper units are a bit awkward - after opening the unit door you immediately need to walk a long flight of stairs, with no space to undress or leave your shoes. Such arrangement is particularly difficult for young families with babies - carrying a baby and a stroller up that flight of stairs is not particularly easy.
