Deer Park, Toronto Midtown Community

Deer Park is a relatively small neighbourhood, and few homes change hands here. Number of sales follows a typical yearly pattern, with fewer listings sold in December-January and in the summer months, and two busy periods in the spring and autumn.

Deer Park neighbourhood is centered around a busy upscale shopping, entertainment and business district of Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue. Bordered on the east by the Rosehill Reservoir Park, the David A. Balfour Park, a lush wilderness of the Vale of Avoca ravine and majestic trees of Mount Pleasant Cemetery, on the north by the Oriole Park and the grounds of Upper Canada College, Deer Park enjoys an excellent balance of nature and city life.

Both Rosehill Reservoir Park and Oriole Park have playgrounds and wading pools. Two tennis courts are located in the Oriole Park, which has access to the Belt Line Trail, a seven kilometre long path following the route of an old railway line. Another hiking path leads through the Vale of Avoca ravine, and expansive grounds of Mount Pleasant Cemetery offer paved surfaces for less able hikers, wheelchairs or strollers. Local joggers and families enjoy the grounds for its diverse flora, wide variety of trees, and interesting monuments of times past.

Deer Park neighbourhood offers high profile shopping and fine dining in a variety of excellent restaurants on Yonge and St. Clair. St. Clair subway is within walking distance.

Deer Park residences vary in architectural style, type, and size. The neighbourhood has a mix of older detached and semi-detached homes, dating mostly from 1875 to 1920, majority of which have been renovated to todays standards, as well as newer townhouses and a large selection of luxury condominium and co-operative buildings.
